W5: Photographing Dogs
From the family pooch through to a clients prize winning hound, all dog photography involves a range of skills. Photographically, it can include all the genres – for example: portraiture, action, macro and creative. But it’s also helpful, as the photographer, to have some general knowledge of dogs and how they tick, as well as how to direct their owners.
In this workshop, we will cover some basic doggy aspects, as well as things like composition, props, lighting and poses; what works best when, within a typical photo session. Everyone will get to take some photos of our gorgeous live models, after we’ve got to know them and made sure they (and their owners) are comfortable. Then we’ll work out together the best way to capture the canine personalities. A hands-on workshop, with potential for great fun, as well as great images.
Bring your camera and whatever lenses you usually work with. My favourite lenses are my Macro 100mm, and my 70-200mm.
