Raptor Centre

The NZ Raptor Trust was established to rescue and care for sick, injured and orphaned raptors. Situated in Timaru the Raptor Centre is a sanctuary to some of New Zealand’s raptors. Get up close with these birds in a unique, hands-on experience. Learn about our meat-eating birds, what they eat, how they hunt, dangers to their safety, and their cultural significance.

Meet some of the birds which have been rehabilitated and are unable to return to the wild. Some of the birds you will see or learn about are: hawk/kahu, falcon/karearea, morepork/ruru, little owl and barn owl.
